The Ferrari 275 series of road and race cars, in production from 1964 to 1968, replaced the highly successful 250 series in 1964. The 275s were available as open GTS cars (Spyder) and closed GTB (Berlinetta) as well as three distinct competition versions. Two different engines were used on the road cars: a twin cam 3.3 Liter V12 from 1964-66 and four cam 3.3 Litre V12 from 1966-68.

unique, customized and fast

The Brothers Collection is proud to have this 1966 275 GTB, one of 454 twin-cam GTBs produced. Its full description is 275 GTB/6C Long Nose Alloy. This example is unique among 275 GTBs.

To improve high-speed aerodynamics, Ferrari increased the length of the front of the GTBs, making the long-nose version (215 produced) most desirable. Optional for customers wanting less weight was the alloy body (60 produced). An additional 20 horsepower was obtained by selecting the 6-carburetor option (16 produced), which increased total output to 300 DIN horsepower and turned a standard GTB into a GTB/6C. This particular example, however, was also ordered with a factory-installed roll bar and outside fuel filler. It is believed that only 3 of the 454 cars were built in this configuration.

This car was ordered in January 1966 and delivered in Italy before being shipped to the USA where it changed hands several times over the years. It eventually found its way to nefarious owners in the Netherlands and was eventually confiscated by authorities who auctioned it off 10 years later. An enthusiast in the UK then bought the car for use as a club/historic racer. The GTB then found its way back to the USA in 2007 where the new owner continued campaigning the car in historic racing events.
